About me

Hello, and welcome to Crooked Tree Creations where I make rustic wreaths that are warm and inviting for your front door, fireplace mantel, foyer, or anywhere in your home. These wreaths can also be a great gift for a funeral, wedding or nursing home decor.

My name is Patti Davis, owner and operator of Crooked Tree Creations.

I'm currently working as a pharmacy technician by day and a wreath creator by night. I have been happily married to my husband since 2003 and counting. Without him, I would not have started my business. Between God, my husband and my family, I am blessed beyond words!

In my younger years, I loved to "create", but not necessarily with crafts. However, a finished, beautiful product such as a song sung in 4-part harmony (yes, I grew up singing barbershop with my older siblings), my new front landscape I planted myself, or a new dish I created for dinner would make me so happy.

I've worked in the secretarial field for most of my adult life, which is constantly a work in progress, so creating something that results in a finished project, especially a beautiful one, is always cause for celebration. This is what has kept me going with my wreath business... creating something that I love and can share with others!

The idea of making wreaths first started with my husband who was talking with a retired teacher.  This retiree stated that he and his wife made a decent living selling crafts, with the added benefit of doing something they enjoyed. Of course, anytime making money is discussed with my husband, his ears perk up! So, he brought the idea to me as a way for me to have a hobby and make money when I retire, which was still several years ahead.

I initially wanted to make wood crafts, but the thought of using power tools frightened me, so that idea was set aside! I've always enjoyed the beauty of wreaths and was curious how they were made, so that's the path I chose.

I looked up different styles of wreaths on Pinterest and through blogs and videos along with trial and error, I learned how to make these different styles. Of course, the first few I made did not meet my expectations! It was a bit disappointing to not have that perfect wreath with my first attempt. But with some encouragement and practice, I finally got to the point where I was satisfied with my creation, sometimes even astonished!

Evenutally, I decided that since I was able to learn from others through their blogs and videos, why couldn't I be the one teaching others? So I started going live on Facebook and evenutally took the leap downloading my own videos on YouTube. I'm still learning how to make my videos more appealing, but I'm really enjoying the process!

Thank you for reading about me and my business journey. I'm sure there will be lots more to come in the future!
